Harrybo was the name of the guy being parodied. He died at the age of 17.

As for your video, the liberal media is in the tank for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. That video was 95% lies, with a 5% kernel of truth.

You'll be pleased to know that I am going to watch the entirety of this. I am 4 minutes 26 seconds in now so far and if the man doesn't bring up the fact that the pipe Garfield is smoking is in fact not a pipe but a representation of a pipe then I will be very disappointed!

I genuinely can't tell whether you are joking or not. I'm actually edging to thinking you're being serious, as you and I are both odd fellows (although I must say, we steam a good ham) and I have watched crazier things than this several times.

Okay, so, I'm 22 minutes 37 seconds in. When the guy talking pointed out that the pipe was not a pipe, my eyes lit up, but to my disappointment, there was no mention of Rene Magritte (Jim Davis' mentor presumably) or his "Treachery of Images". If it doesn't come up, wasted opportunity!

He has begun talking about foot binding, which I have heard about.

The optimistic side of me thinks that he is going somewhere with this, yet the more cynical part of me reckons that he is just going to blabber on about nothing and go nowhere and reach a conclusion that will just leave me puzzled and confused. I recognize that if he does this, it will be a parody of those pretentious critics of Modern "Art" who just witter on about rubbishy pieces of paintings that are mere literal scribbles and/or paint splatter on a canvas. However, they could do something like that in less than an hour.

This better be good, Red.

Well, I'm now 28 minutes 25 seconds into it and I can now tell you that my optimistic side appears to be what is proven correct. He made quite a clever point about Jon having his feet small due to foot binding and being impotent due to not having the pipe. He also made a clever point about the middle panel being the equivalent of John like Adam taking the fruit from the tree, and this being in between the first panel (innocence) and third panel (knowledge).

And yes, I know the video is meant to be humourous (Spelled with a "u"! Bloody yanks!) and not taken seriously, but the fact that they have put effort into it rather than just babbling a bunch of nonsense pleases me.

I still do not like how he is calling Garfield evil though. I know it is a joke, but Garfield is an adorable cat and I would not even like to think about him being evil.

38 minutes 45 seconds into it. The video has taken an entirely different direction to where I thought it was going, which the young girl being some sort of psychic drawing the next day's "Garfield" strip. This could go interestingly!

When Garfield says in the strip "Sahib asks fish, paper is wet. Sahib asks cat, paper is holey" it is very funny! The man in the video, who is trying to paint Garfield as some sort of demonic figure, ought to talk about how this shows that Satan is God's adversary, and that there is a problem with God creating a devil when an omniscient God would know that he would rebel against him (As discussed in this thread: http://philosophicalvegan.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3790). If this man doesn't attempt to use the Garfield strip to solve this philosophical puzzle, then I will be left sorely disappointed!

Also interesting how the girl's house is up for sale. Could tie into this Garfield strip:

Still no mention of Magritte's "Treachery of Images"! I find it very hard to believe that in a video that is supposed to make a "Garfield" comic strip about a pipe look like a work of art this wouldn't the first thing that the makers of the video would think of putting in there. Well, there's around 20 minutes left so I'll just have to wait and see.

Very clever of him to bring up the fact that cats are red-green colourblind and then talk about how Garfield sits on a green floor by a red wall. However, it was inconvenient of him not to show that part of the strip, and I had to Google it in order to make sure that he was not lying.

To clarify, he did show it earlier on in the video but I had forgotten what it looked like. I am not like Sherlock Holmes in and I do not have the ability to recall such information as the colour (WITH A "U"!) of walls and floors in comic strips. It would have helped if he had shown the third panel at the point in the video when he brought it up.

LOVE IT when he talks about how you can't spell "FACT" and "TRACK" without "CAT". That cracked me up!

46 minutes and 51 seconds in.

Very clever how he compares the "tension" of Jon wondering where his pipe was and the "release" of him finding Garfield smoking it to Shakespeare's plays where lighthearted scenes act as a break in between tense scenes. One of these plays is "Romeo and Juliet". This play features a character called Tybalt who is called the "Prince of Cats". He is an evil and wrathful character, just like this man is portraying Garfield as. Although Garfield's wrath is passive, rather than Tybalt's active wrath, I still think that it would be a missed opportunity for this man not to bring Tybalt up.
