On first appearance it looks like it only lets you donate £1 at the moment, don't know if there's a way to change that so explicitly custom donations. You shouldn't be bearing the £20 service cost so happy to chip in for that, I think the only conceivable way we make enough money to pay editors though is to run google ads down the sides of the forum for a while and all get ad-block, I know some people might not like that.brimstoneSalad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 12:03 am Thank you so much for your support.

I'm not sure what to put for the goals. Mostly more just means I can spend more time on the Wiki and do less of other work. And time editing videos too, eventually. If we have enough per month that it's worth it to transfer money and keep track of contributions, we could fund a second or third editor to work on transferring content too.
Ideally I'd like to outsource to a professional editor/s to convert content from the forum to the Wiki, so I can focus on original content. But we'll probably need like $500 a month to make that worth while. At this point I have no idea what kind of contributions we're looking at.

Re: Hosting cost
I just made a Patreon account. I was hoping to pay with debit, but it seems credit cards and Pay Pal are the only options. I will get my Mom to use her credit card either later today or tomorrow if she isn't too busy (she's a teacher,) and I'll pay her back directly.
So the $ amounts are USD, right? Before thinking of donating more, I was thinking of $10 CAD each month, but then I changed my idea to $20 CAD each month, which afaik is approximately $15 USD, so I'll donate $15, unless it's not in USD. If I get a good job, I'll donate more than that, but this' all I can afford right now.
And does anyone know what the "rewards" mean? It sounded like something weird like cash back, so I tried to put it at 0 while my upper proper pledge was $15, but it said I couldn't leave the "rewards" at 0, and it defaulted to "1.00+"

Re: Hosting cost
Oh you put the figure in yourself after you click $1.00+ and it's in USD.
The Rewards feature is how you donate DreamSphere, because it's built for content producers they set it up so if you donate so much you can get access to so much content, but obvs we won't be restricting posts to higher donators, just donate what you feel, and if we're under 20$ by October I'll make up the rest, in a precarious financial situation myself worried about old dogs vet bills.

Re: Hosting cost
Oh, OK. Thanks. That's good, now I know what to do, so just when my Mom gets back from school I'll try to work it out then.
Also, funny coincidence, but my dog recently had a nearly $2,000 vet bill. My Mom only wants me to pay for less than a third of it over the next few months, though, I still don't have a lot of cash to spare.

Re: Hosting cost
I added some reward tiers people can choose to help make it easier to pledge.
I'll be blown away if anybody is financially secure and generous enough to pledge $50, but I thought I'd stick it up there anyway.
Any thoughts?

Looks great to me.
I think it'll be a good idea to have perks that don't give anyone any certain advantages or inside look on anything and what have you. I think perks should include cosmetic advantages. For example, if you give X dollars, you get a cool rank, say like MVP, an it's in another color, kind of like the default ranks we use., and it will also be displayed next to your name.
Anyone agree/disagree?

I put in some reward levels for convenience for people, but you can pledge any number you're comfortable with. $15 would be amazing and a great help. Thank you!Dream Sphere wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 3:24 am So the $ amounts are USD, right? I'll pledge later today. Yesterday a couple things were going on which distracted me from this.brimstoneSalad wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 2:19 amI put in some reward levels for convenience for people, but you can pledge any number you're comfortable with. $15 would be amazing and a great help. Edit: my Mom's too tired tonight as well. At the latest I'll most likely get it done by the weekend, but since it's a monthly thing as long as I get it done before October it should be good afaik.

Thanks Dream Sphere!
I added an image under the text of the forum support, because I don't think many people saw the announcement (only 15 views).
Hopefully that's not overkill, I'll try to find an easy way to put it somewhere at the top and smaller soon.
