So i watched Family Guy yesterday, bout this two couples rejecting modern science and medicine in favor of faith healing for their child, damn even only as old as Stewie so i guess the dude was just a year old.
What about the rights of the children? Is there such a thing as too much freedom in america (USA)?
Now it dawned at me, what about the rights of the child to live? What about the rights of the child to believe in their own religion, on their own volition. Isn't that if they were thought of a religion of a young age, resulting of them believing that it is true and is near incapable of seeing it's delusion? If a child was scared with eternal fires of hell or the penalty of death, knowing that they are gullible, we can reasonably say that they are incapable of thinking of leaving out of their religion in fear of hell or death.
If a child is brought up to know that murder is okay, that rape okay, and consents and agrees to it, is that okay? No because of their incapability of informed consent. Then why on earth would we think that teaching children that their religion is correct at their childhood, they are incapable of informed choices.

"As muslims, we have the right to bring up our child in accordance of our beliefs."
"The rights of the children comes when they are old enough to understand issues."
Is that really how it goes? The children don't have rights on the matter because they are young? Does your religious freedom extend to such, that you can condition your child?
Now on the matter of faith healing, and USA having too much freedom. Consider the fact that they can do that, the law protects their right to deny proper medical attention to their own children. Because of the law, we should only watch them let their children die.
What about the rights of the children? What if they believe differently than yours (speaking to the faithful bastards), what if they wanted medical attention when you don't?
I think in USA there is too much religious freedom, that they can let their children die due to preferring faith healing over proper medical care, that they can shove their religion on their defenseless children, and worse: get away with it due to the First Amendment.
Thankfully, criminal charges are filed against those people, but it's sickening to know that there are still parts i the USA and even the world that does that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6lHeRnhyqc
I think their constitution needs to be revised, so that children will have protection from religion, even from their own parents. Faith-Heaing is stupid.

Re: What about the rights of the children?
Hello. A short answer from a new member of this forum:
Kids are smart. By the age of 9 probably as smart as they'll ever be.
They lack reflexes, information, personal experiences.
But they can learn, they listen.
So teach them everything. It's every parent's duty.
And by everything I mean introduce them to the concept of religion. Of all religions.
And that there are many of them. Religious books with tales by and about men from a long time ago, sometimes interesting, morally sound, other times less so. Lots of times just irrelevant.
So, to keep it short, when someone says "I have the right to bring my child up as a muslim,"
what they're actually saying is they will keep the child in the dark (or often lie) about modern science, Christianity, Buddhism,
etc. And they do indeed mean that.
They're denying access to information.
And to me that is illegal!
As for faith healing, there is not much to discuss there. I've always had faith in doctors. Even in not so good ones. Maybe people should teach that in schools or at home. To have faith in specialized professionals.

I guess. But shouldn't the government do something about that? I mean sure i can teach my child(ren) properly, but not everyone else.thomas_payne88 wrote:Hello. A short answer from a new member of this forum:
