Hello everyone

Post by OpiumAddict »

Greetings, I'm from Malaysia. Few notes on Malaysia, it is not that great a place for a vegan or atheist to be in (everything is dairy, almond milk is scarce etc), Muslim apostates are executed in certain states, etc. But very welcoming for vegetarians since there are a lot of practicing Buddhists and Hindus.

Ex-catholic(quite recent), egalitarian and also a meat-eater. I have lots of rare pepes too 8-) . Always open to discussion.

>I accidentally set my diet as vegan and don't know how to change it, any help is appreciated.

Nice to meet you.

Welcome! How is it like being in Malaysia, is it really totalitarian? And how is being an atheist/ vegan?

Being an atheist isn't really normal here, the more common term is 'free thinker' and when you're in that state, they usually expect you to take up other religions soon. I'm quite skeptical on this but I think a lot of Malaysians believe in young earth creationism, this whole atheist vs religion debate is illegal here anyway so most people are closet atheists.

As for vegans, non-dairy products are hard to come by but there are a few vendors online, it's also considered a weird choice of diet here i guess. For a vegetarian however it's easy, plenty of staunch Buddhists here, artificial meat and vegetarian restaurants are not too hard to find.
