Welcome to me.

Post by blackbeanfanatic »

Two weeks ago upon discovering how freaking delicious black beans are (especially with creamed avocado and lime) I decided to look into becoming vegan, a friend had the previous week sent me the documentary cowspiracy which literally had me convinced within 30 seconds. My friend wasn't vegan, so after this the first thing I did was actually to convince him to go vegan as well. He sadly lives in a mental hospital without a vegan option, though - (that's enough to scare me away from requesting any kind of psychiatric help).

That's my story, and I can now be found here, but also in actively addressing ignorance, and debunking meat-eaters' arguments with objective fact in youtube-videos every day. Now, excuse me while I go and eat every vegetable, fruit, legume, cereal grains, oil-growth, bean, nut, root, berry and edible plant in the world. Did I miss anything?

Welcome blackbeanfanatic,

Congrats on going vegan, that's great! I'm glad you've joined the forum.

What was your journey to atheism like, or have you always been?

Yeah, always have been outrageously atheist. When I started school at the age of 6, and we had lessons in Christianity the stories of the bible were so strikingly similar to my bed time stories, that I just automatically just assumed it was fairytales and fiction. I remember at the age of about 7 that I was shocked to hear that my cousin actually believed in god, so it wasn't really ever even an option to me at all.

It's always funny to imagine reactions to religion from kids who grew up not realizing others believed those things. The very first time a person realizes that a large part of the world are complete idiots...
