Re: What do atheists think of Jesus?
If its Flavius Josephus you're talking about that's not possible. Jesus was lived in 4BC - 33 AD at least in the time frame. Flavius Josephus was born in 37 AD almost 4 years after most scholar agree Jesus died. If the dates of their lives line up at all Josephus would have been a child under the age of 5 and that's being generous. Are you talking about Flavius Josephus the Jewish historian or a different man named Josephus? If you could find that YouTube Channel I'd be interested. The information you've given has dates that don't line up.

Ok I'll find it for you. And yes I'm talking about the same Josephus as you are. But we are talking about 2 different Jesus'. The man I speak of was a rebel with the nick name of King Jesus. He was just a man who apposed the Roman beliefs.

The name of the best YouTube channel going over everything from Josephus is called
"The Roman Conspiracy to Invent Jesus. Red Ice Creations Interview with Joseph Atwell."
It goes over the full parallel from his other books to the bible. It's a little over an hour long though :-/ I'm sorry. For something like this, you can't have short videos lol I own all of Flavius Josephus' books and of course a few early and new bibles. I do see the very similar paths they take and that's why I feel it is good theory for the truth. I obviously won't say I'm correct, because you can never be 100% sure of most anything

I'm really sorry.... I've been studying another theory on jesus recently. Got the two mixed together. What I was saying about Josephus was correct, but the King Jesus thing was from what I'm studying right now lol
The story with Josephus is that Tidus Flavius was the Jesus of the bible. Again, sorry I mixed those two up. Would you like to here about my theory I'm researching now? Regarding the King Jesus

Does this King Jesus have any relation to Jesus of Nazareth? I don't know if I'll have time watch that hour long video I'd want to do careful research along with it and I won't have enough time to do that until winter break in December. Also, I'd highly recommend the video "Craig Blomberg - How Historians Can Know Jesus of Nazareth". Its about 15 minutes gives a brief overview of the historical Jesus of Nazareth. I'm reading Dr. Blomberg's essay linked in the description of that video, which goes more in depth into what is discussed in the video.
Just curious, what do you mean when you say early Bibles? Do you mean like 1611 King James, earlier, later, or am I completely off?

Re: What do atheists think of Jesus?
No, jesus of nazareth is a different person. There are 3 books on it. Cleopatra to Christ, King Jesus, and Jesus: King of Edessa. It seems pretty good so far, but I like the Tidus Flavius theory better right now
There is no such thing as a 1611 King James bible. Every single copy of that year was recalled and reprinted. If someone claims to have one, I personally will fly to them and read it. It's a VERY rare bible to still have in print. No, I was just talking about the reprinted KJV, KJVA, NKJV, NIV, ESV, and The Tree of Life (it's a Jewish bible as far as I know)

OK, I might look into this when I have some more time to do in depth research.

I will say one thing. Please read both the King James Version AND the New International Version side by side. You will see everything that was changed and added. Lots of things the older bibles say are changed or removed in newer bibles

Re: What do atheists think of Jesus?
Could you give me some examples? One thing I can think of to explain that is better manuscript documentation. Verses like John 7:53 - 8:11 aren't in the oldest manuscripts that have been found. There have been a lot more manuscripts found since the King James Version 1769 was translated.

Re: What do atheists think of Jesus?
I don't think Jesus as described in the bible was a good person. He said that he supported the Old Testament which to me is a very evil book. As a vegan I am appalled by how he treated fish, sheep, and other sentient beings. Moreover, I find it disgusting that a man with healing powers only healed those who were lucky to cross his path.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.
