It's Time To Reflect

Post by Red »

As 2015 is starting to come to a close, I think we should all reflect on how much we did on the forum in the past year. I think we learned a lot from each other, ja?

I had quite a long absence, probably like 4 or 5 months. Is that long? Probably. Anyway, during that time I kinda lost interest in atheism and veganism, and I still have that lost interest. I also felt that this was just a community where everyone pats each other on the back for not eating meat and for not believing in God. I saw past this and came back a few months ago. I rarely ever participate in the vegan and atheist debates, as it is quite tedious for me, and it isn't really intrinsic as aa vegan atheist to debate such things. Maybe every now and again I'd get into a juicy argument involving veganism, but never about religion. Looking back, I was (and still am) quite stupid, bigoted, and ignorant, at least when it came to atheism. Ho ly fuck I was the epitome of the whole new atheist character. I always joined atheist groups on Facebook (which I deactivated quite a while ago), and always shared atheistic related posts. It really caused me a few friendships, which I do regret. I know now that even though I'm a young vegan atheist, doesn't make me any different from any other kids in my age group. I'm still just as stupid, ungrateful, ignorant, and have no perspective on life as everyone else does. Well at least I'm able to be honest to myself about it now. But there are a few good things. For one, I did improve my drawing skills. I am fucking mortified for showing my old, hideous profile picture, and saw it as "good". I was fucking stupid. I mean, my current one isn't anything special, but it's at least something that won't make me feel like I don't know what quality is. I also took up animation, so that was good.
I'll add more later.
Anyway, does anyone else wanna bother sharing their life story?

Well I joined the forum last April, and I can say that it has changed my views on veganism. When I first joined, I didn't think much about it, but now I can say that as soon as I am able, I would like to make the transition. I also had a bit of an absence durin the summer as I had to work on my summer college courses, but it felt good to come back after that. If I really want to go into detail, the past two and a half years of my life have been a series of major changes to my way of thinking. From christain to atheist two and a half years ago, and a change in my political stances around a year and a half ago. I have grown more in that frame of time than in my entire life, and the real kicker is, I started changing when I discovered the vegan atheist'schannel. Overall, I am satisfied with the person I have become. But you probably don't care about that.
