My Sheltered Friend

Post by Red »

So in English class, we are reading a book that consists of short stories. In one of the stories, the character meets a homosexual man who has contracted HIV from anal sex. And it's not subtle about it, no no, they just fucking spoon feed it to you. Like they literally say that he got HIV from anal sex. But anyway, my friend who we'll call Billy. He had no clue what anal sex or what HIV was. So he went up to the teacher and asked him what they were. I'm pretty sure he felt uncomfortable discussing it, and since I happen to sit right in front of the teacher, he said "George, take him outside and explain it to him please." So, we went into the hall, and I started explaining in the most clean and appropriate way possible: (graphic content)

Me-"Okay, so, anal sex is when 2 guys (or 1 guy, but in this scenario we'll use 2 guys) love each other very much. Homosexual sex uses the anus as the main orifice when they have sex. So, one of the guys puts the, hem.. penis into the other ones' anus."
Billy-"..What's an anus?"
Me-"You.."

I shit you not. I'm pretty sure you're doubting me at this point. Anyway I explained to him a lot about sex, and since I fancy myself to be quite experienced in the field. He didn't even know what the hell a vagina was! Then I said

Me-"How do you not know about this!? Didn't you take sex education?"
Billy-"My parents opted me out of it. They say I don't need to know that kind of stuff, and I will remain innocent."

This kinda pisses me off. Why would you not let your kids know about sex? He's not gonna grow up to be perfect, y'know. And he's not even a Christian, he's a Hindu I think, if you're wondering.

But I never understood this mindset. He plays Team Fortress 2, one of the most violent games I've ever seen, yet he's not allowed to know about the human body?

Well what do you think?

Keeping him out of sex ed seems dumb

If he doesnt know what a vagina is I have to assume they put some filter on his browser so he can't find porn... which I think is a good thing.

Internet porn is basically cocaine that's readily available at all times. It impacts behaviour negatively in several ways, and sometimes leads to addiction. IMO the later kids find out about it the better. It's better to just use one's imagination however boring that can be ;d

That is a bold faced lie. Seriously, look at me! Granted, I don't watch it as much anymore, but it is quite easy to give up.

Is that the classic "I can quit anytime" ?:D

But srsly, it's important for kids not to form too many bad habits because they only get harder and harder to break with age.
