IF YOU HAVE A CAT, KEEP YOUR CUCUMBERS AWAY FROM IT! THERE HAS NOW BECOME A PHENOMENON WHERE PEOPLE PUT THEIR CUCUMBERS NEAR CATS TO SEE THE CATS' SCARED REACTION, THIS IS NOT FUNNY! THE REASON CATS ARE SCARED BY CUCUMBERS IS BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE SNAKES! AND IF YOU PUT A CUCUMBER NEAR A CAT, IT WILL SCAR THEM MENTALLY AS THEY THINK THAT THEIR HOME IS A SAFE SPACE FOR THEM, BUT IF THERE IS A CUCUMBER/SNAKE IN IT, THEN THEIR SAFE SPACE IS NOT SO SAFE NOW! IF YOU LOVE CATS AS MUCH AS I DO, THEN SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE!

I doubt this claim. A cat will probably jump if you put anything behind it that's unexpected.

Videos of cats being scared by cucumbers have them coming back to investigate, batting it, then sniffing or biting it, and realizing it's harmless.
Cats also kill snakes outside, so they're well equipped to handle the threat.
