Hello everyone!

Post by fireball0093 »

I stumbled upon The Vegan Atheist today on YouTube, and the forum was mentioned and I figured why the hell not sign up, it would be lovely to participate in a community of vegans since there aren't many at all in my area. I have been vegan for going on 7 months, a lovely lady from PETA at Warped Tour told my girlfriend and I about it, how to transition to it, and a ton more advice and added us on Facebook to keep in touch. I have no regrets at all, my girlfriend does not either. I never thought much of eating animal flesh until a week or two before my birthday. It's difficult with family and friends mocking me for it, which I counter that with making them a meal instead of getting into a potential argument just to show them it's not difficult and tastes really good. So, hello! That's my story. :D

Hello!

I'm new here as well, but this is a fascinating forum. Not Vegan myself, but V-curious? All of the Vegans I have spoke to here are really friendly, and there are a lot of interesting topics. It's awesome you responded to your family with trying to introduce them to it, instead of engaging an argument. I'm sure you will be welcomed here!

Welcome fireball! I hope you like it here.

Will your girlfriend be joining us too? It's great that you two did this together; becoming better, healthier people is a great way for a relationship to grow. We tend to see the same in couples who get fit together.

She isn't too much of a forum user but I've told her about this. It is a good way for a relationship to grow, I will agree. It's even better because her dad is a health nut who is almost completely vegan. He still eats meat and eggs once in a blue moon but he always has stuff like Veganaise, Daiya, soy and almond milk, and almost everything else vegan which makes it easier on us too
