Response to: Why I'm No Longer an Atheist

Dear undertakerfreak1127,
In regards of to your most recent video, there were an abundance of misconceptions that came as a shock to me, judging by your intelligence and knowledge on many subjects. Firstly, I will say that your story about how you transitioned from being highly critical of religion to being pretty much apathetic is similar to my story. I also lost the will to criticize religion. However, just because you stopped criticizing religion does not mean you're not an atheist; an atheist is defined as someone who denies the existence of a God, usually due to a lack of evidence. You were confusing Atheism with Anti-Theism, or as I call it, New Atheism, which is the philosophy and notion that religion should be criticized, questioned, and dismantled from the bottom up. Anti-Theism/New Atheism is not a necessary component of Atheism itself. Atheism, as said before, is just not believing in God mainly due to the lack of evidence. Plus, accepting science is not an intrinsic part of Atheism. I've seen a few atheists on the internet who doubt evolution, as weird as that may sound.

If we went by your definition of Atheist, then that would mean that I'm not an Atheist, and no one else on this forum is. This is false. If your definition is true, then about 16% of the world (that's the percentage who don't believe in God) criticize religion. By the way, using the term Agnostic as you did is a mixed bag. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what an "agnostic" is (hopefully someone here will correct me if I'm wrong ;) ) but as far as I know, you're not one. I'm not sure if there is such thing. Agnosticism is not knowing if a God truly exists. Agnosticism is quite versatile, as it can apply to both Atheism and Theism: Agnostic Atheism means you don't know if a God truly exists or not, but you don't believe in a God, and Agnostic Theism is also not knowing if God exists, but you still believe in one. You may see more Agnostic Atheists than Agnostic Theists (at least on the internet). Just answer this one question, and then we'd be able to determine if you're an Atheist or not; Do you believe in a God? If yes, then you aren't in fact an atheist. If the answer is no, then you are an atheist. Has the penny dropped yet?

Finally, at around 3:39, I didn't quote understand what you were saying. They can't prove what? In science, they don't just do a few experiments, they regularly do experiments with the same variables to make their conclusions, and to make sure they're correct. I'm not sure what you were implying. Can someone else help me out?

(I may have missed a few things, but if one of you guys want, you can make a response of you're own. Let's just hope UTF1127 sees this post ;) )

Anyway, John, this wasn't an attack on you, I just wanted to clear up a few errors you made.
(If I were in your presence right now, I'd slap you silly ;) ).

Ok. Bye

Sincerely,
Red.

Thanks. I'm not sure if you watched the video (I don't recommend you do, it's a little long and not really worth much of a watch), but I hope I covered everything there was to cover. He also may not respond to this, because while he always attacks weak and easy arguments, he has a bad history and reputation of backing out and not responding to a good argument.

These personalities usually don't want to address difficult arguments. We saw the same with Dillahunty, for example. They like low hanging fruit.

Everyone likes to feel smart. Reminds me of when I was in Middle School. I guess its good I got my unjustified arrogance out of the way when I was still relatively young. Now just to get the justified arrogance out of the way.

By the way, I checked UTF's Twitter. He likes Bernie Sanders, hates Trump, and likes GradeAUnderA. I aksed him on Twatter what his opinions are on Trump supporting Nuclear Power and GMO's. I didn't get an answer, which of course didn't shock me. If I did though, it'd probably be a very profane response.

By the way, I checked UTF's Twitter. He likes Bernie Sanders, hates Trump, and likes GradeAUnderA. And I think he still lives with his mom, has a job in retail, and flunked college. Update: He also seems to block people when he feels pressured. I saw a small argument he had on twitter, and blocked a guy because he had a compelling argument, and he also had in insult in there.
