Taking a stance against kissing

Post by Jebus »

Along with hand shakes, kissing must be one of the most stupid traditions of Western society. Why must we always go through this unhealthy step before we fornicate? I've decided that I'd rather spend the rest of my life in celibacy than perform this ridiculous act again.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Uh, what's so terrible about it? Can you substantiate your claim that it is unhealthy?

Well, it does carry the risk of spreading STDs..

Lmao. Reminds me of this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sLnuBQDcbD4

Anyway, if the person has STDs then you shouldn't have sex anyway. Or if it's oral herpes, you could just ask. And if you don't trust the person to be honest, why are you with that person anyway?

No I'm just saying how kissing can be unhealthy. Plus, what if you did trust this mofo, but they were lying?

The person may not know, or may be ignorant about it, thinking it's something that isn't transmissible as long as there's not a cold sore (or any other superstitions about homeopathic remedies, etc.).
There are more things than that which can spread by oral contact.

Best bet is to be in a long term monogamous relationship with testing.

Don't trust people who are such assholes that they'd lie about having an STI. :P

Just ask questions that account for that, like, "Did you know herpes can spread even if you don't have cold sores?"

Ok, don't kiss someone who has mononucleosis either. Unless you're referring to something else besides infections/sicknesses.

Well, that's safer, but avoiding all physical contact with anyone and wearing gloves all the time is safer than what you're suggesting. I think it's just important to ask questions and use protection (you can't really use protection for kissing, though I think questions are enough).

Someone who would lie about that is probably not a very good person.

There are multiple factors at play here. What if the person just does not want to be embarrassed?
