The issue is the oppression Muslims face from the Islamic state -- every day oppression for every day law abiding Muslims, particularly women. Lack of birth control and access to safe abortions, poor legal protection in marriage, divorce, and with custody and property rights, poor education.

Sure he can. There are many reformers and moderate Muslims there who are inspiring others to be more tolerant.
