Do you think Jimmy Dore is responsible, and if yes, to what degree?
I'm not sure

Do you have another link? I don't want to give AiU the views after what he did to Creationist Cat.
Or maybe you can summarize the issue/link to the TYT show in question.

As I know that story, CC created some content calling AiU racist (for pointing out the disproportionality of US crime stats). In turn AiU created some content calling CC a neo-nazi. Both tagged the other person's real name (semi publically available) to the accusations. But maybe there's more to it that I don't know about, or do you think this kind of 'revenge' was immoral?brimstoneSalad wrote:Do you have another link? Ok, as I recall: Jimmy Dore and two random people I don't recognize cover some story where a woman is badly mistreated by a cop, as she ends up getting several teeth knocked out for no good reason. Jimmy assumes that the woman was black (wasn't) and insinuates the cop did it because he was racist. Then he goes on some rant about how all cops are violent scum who just cause problems, and only choose that career so they get to beat people up legally. Then he urges people to start fighting back.Or maybe you can summarize the issue/link to the TYT show in question.
//edit: actually the things I described seem to span multiple videos, not just one
It turns out the Baton Rouge cop killer had a youtube channel where he mirrored these videos and also uploaded his own content where he more or less repeats Jimmy's anti-cop rants verbatim.

I don't think so. You should watch CC's videos on the topic.knot wrote: As I know that story, CC created some content calling AiU racist (for pointing out the disproportionality of US crime stats).
AiU is a race baiter, he says things that he knows will sound racist to generate controversy, and then complains when people call him racist. It doesn't really matter if he's actually a racist or not.
The appropriate response to trolls and drama baiters like that is generally to ignore them, which CC didn't do (that was his mistake). He took the bait, then AiU went off on him to a degree inappropriate for somebody who had been baiting this kind of response; a lot of that probably came from his past admiration of CC. It's clear to me that AiU has mental health problems. That wasn't just an attention grabbing drama war, he did a number of truly despicable things in retaliation for the criticism.
If he did have a channel where he mirrored the content, and the content was as you say, then that sounds credible. If this is coming from AiU, though, I don't trust a word he says.knot wrote: Ok, as I recall: Jimmy Dore and two random people I don't recognize cover some story where a woman is badly mistreated by a cop, as she ends up getting several teeth knocked out for no good reason. If this is all true, it's on Jimmy Dore, but TYT probably needs to be more careful about what messages they allow to be put out there. Giving people a platform to inspire violence is not without moral blame.
Have they dismissed Dore from the show?

Oh ok, I can see that. He probably shouldn't go that berzerk since there's so much trolling and baiting in his content that it's not very clear to outsiders what his views actually are.
I think Jimmy is still with TYT. They filed a copyright claim against the dead shooter's channel to get his videos down.

The whole thing indicated to me that he has some mental health issues, along with honesty issues. I don't trust him.knot wrote:Oh ok, I can see that. If you see CC's videos, the contrast is pretty dramatic in how they deal with facts and criticism.
If true, that's pretty funny.knot wrote:I think Jimmy is still with TYT. They filed a copyright claim against the dead shooter's channel to get his videos down.
