Christian "Science"

Post by Neptual »

Some how wading my way through the loads of crap on the internet I came across this website http://christianscience.com/.

This website is the perfect example of how religion is dangerous in everyday lives. Gullible Christians will read this and take this as fact. If you look into it even "explains" how prayer and healing work.

"Christian Science" is a denomination of Christianity, but it's not science.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of them before. They're kind of like the Christian version of Scientology.

It's always been a little hilarious how whoever came up with this ideology called it "Christian Science". I mean, there is 0 amount of discovery or development involved - it's just Christian Healing at best. It requires absolutely no understanding of medical science, and it can be summed up as "Trust God; Feel Better!"

Which, interestingly, absolutely works!

You can "feel better" by trusting god. It's a very effective placebo.

However, there's a difference between feeling better and actually being better; it's the difference between a placebo and an actual medicine.
