Hi there! I'm glad to have found a group such as this one.
Any medical professionals here?
An important fun fact about myself is that I am a student nurse. I find I may bring a unique perspective of being (slowly, but surely) trained in patient care. I notice more and more nurses whom are vegan and it makes me very excited.
I'm becoming more interested in ethics and such, especially tying it into public healthcare policy and how we take care of patients, so maybe this forum will provide some perspectives to me that I find I can incorporate into that aspect of my life... if not, I joined for fun so it's nice being in contact with a lot of fellow vegans/atheists that are NOT fear-mongering, one-sided type people.
Anyways, thank you for reading!

Re: Hello, new friends!
Hi gradeA, welcome!
There are a few doctors here, I'm not sure if we have any regular posters who are nurses, that's a great perspective to bring.
I hope you like it here, please don't hesitate to make new threads or post in old ones.

Welcome to our community!
That's great! Health care providers should be among the first to make that realization.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Once I get more comfortable, I will be sure to talk about some things I notice in the realm of health care and veganism. Re: Hello, new friends!
I'm sorry I completely forgot to reply to your welcome! Thank you so much! Also, yes I agree with you when it comes to healthcare professionals. a lot of what I learned about being vegan, health wise, before I was a student nurse was confirmed by learnings in my basic nutrition class. Though it largely went by government guidelines of nutrition, the information about how the body works (based on Anatomy & Physiology class too) and the balance we need to maintain for our health, it simply just makes sense to me to be vegan, as I do not have any non-animal dietary restrictions
