Your Forum Username - Significance?

Post by TheVeganAtheist »

We have a lot of great forum members and interesting user names. I'm curious what they mean (if anything) and why you chose that name?

I'll start.
TheVeganAtheist, I chose that name for my youtube channel and username because those are the 2 greatest passions of mine.
Do you find the forum to be quiet and inactive?
- Do your part by engaging in new and old topics
- Don't wait for others to start NEW topics, post one yourself
- Invite family, friends or critics

They are my two greatest passions too. Veganism first and Atheism a distant second.

My username comes from "The Simpsons" where Homer sometimes cries out "Save me Jebus!" during times of distress.
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

"Boes" has been the nickname of my grandpa, my uncles and father, my nephews and brothers. I am by far the youngest member of my family, so my oldest brother came up with miniboes. The ox in my avatar is from a Dutch cartoon, his name is Boes too.

My username came forth out of a brainstorm session. I first tried to use the most important interests of mine, but those usernames didn't sound so well. So after that I just tried to come up with a name that just sounds great, but doesn't have any meaning.

I've been using this username since I started using IRC's. You could say it's an old tradition for me to use it.

It's a vegan pun on Socrates.

I guess I could have also gone for Simone de Tofuvoir, but it doesn't have the same ring to it.

It is also the title of my personal blog, my twitter account, and most of my gaming accounts.

Well my name actually has a long history as a matter of fact. So, y'know, get comfortable you're gonna be here for a while. Anyways, let's start at the beginning. About 7-8 years ago, my brother always played this game online, I have no idea what the game was. Regardless, his username was redojp. jp stood for his initials. Now skipping forward like 4 years later, I just finished setting up my XBOX Live account, with the name "greenapple246". The account is long gone now, but let's continue. Now skipping forward about a year or two, and I am getting ready to create a new screen name. I took my brother's "redojp" name and combined it with my old XBOX gamertag. I wanted to come up with a new name, like the guy with OCD I am. I replaced my brother's initials with my own, took the apple and red out of both names, and voila, you get RedAppleGP.

I decided not to use my normal username for forums because I don't want to be easily identifiable to my friends or family. Noelle is a pretty name that I was considering giving as a middle name to one of my daughters someday. Boring username story, lol.

I think your name is awesome, but I just now noticed it rhymes with polenta! Good thing polenta is a vegan product. :)

Thanks! I never heard of polenta, but it seems pretty easy to make. Have you ever tried it?

I only recently found out what it was, thanks to wikipedia. I kind of don't want to try it, but then again, if it's tasty, I could always give it a try.

I thought you would know what it is, like you subconsciously chose your name because you are a polenta addict. lol!
