I was going to say the same thing, although aph0t1c said grocery stores are a necessity and fast food chains are not. I wonder what's stopping them growing all their own food?Red wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 10:59 pm I think it's also important to add that going with the principle of not buying anything from a company that sells meat makes going vegan absurdly more difficult; Most people don't have access to Grocery Stores that sell nothing but Plant based foods (and AFAIK in the US there aren't any vegan grocery store chains, the closest we got is Trader Joe's or Whole Foods). Sure, you can order things online, but that can get very expensive.

In the principle they're talking about, the action is the same is it not? That's another issue they haven't really reconciled.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect companies not to hop on the vegan trend. Of course it is a problem consumers have and they want to solve for a profit.
I also think vegans would would lose a large percentage of good options they have if companies like this didn't develop products for them. They have the money, labs, employees, and expertise to work on developing delicious plant based products that you enjoy. Small companies and startups do not have this ability without millions in investment.
So either you embrace the PBC or lose a huge percentage of the awesome vegan options at the grocery stores. If you lose these grocery options, you go back to the days of only having a salad as an option at restaurants.
