What motivated me to go vegetarian is when my mother went to prison back when I was 16 (five years ago). Everybody around me was convincing me that that could not happen... yet it happened. So, if everybody around me was wrong about that, why should I listen to them about their dietary advice which makes no sense?

What motivated you to go vegan? For most of us it was ethics, then as we learned more about it we also support environmental and health arguments.

There are many things we can do to change the world, but it depends on what you're more skilled at.

For me I think it was just realising that animals have to suffer simply for food choices (and clothing etc). It's hard to explain, but although I kind of always knew, as soon as I thought about it, it made no sense anymore...

I think most of us, even as children being raised to eat meat, something just doesn't sit right when we remember an animal had to die for it.

What point are you trying to make with "We are told from a very young age..."? We are being told from a very young age meat is healthy and that God exists, that does not increase the probability of those things being right.

There is a difference between ignorance and being a moron. You are an extreme combination of the two.

What point are you trying to make with "We are told from a very young age..."? We are being told from a very young age meat is healthy and that God exists, that does not increase the probability of those things being right.

As always, you miss the point. We're told that murder is wrong, yet we're fed meat, which had to involve the killing of the animal. Figure it out.
