Tell us what movie you've recently watched, and whether you liked it or not.

I've just watched the movie Noah by Darren Aronofsky. I'm a big fan of his other movies, so had to see this one as well. Although I do think it's his worst one, it still was a decent movie.
It has been criticizes for being vegan propaganda, and I indeed could see some references to veganism and thought it pretty great of Aronofsky to do so. It was subtle enough to not be distracting or too obvious.
As for it being a biblical story, I don't really care much about that. Good stories are good stories, and Noah's Ark is a reasonably enjoyable story.

Re: Latest movie you've watched
I watched Street Fighter a few weeks ago. I thought it was slow in some points, but overall I liked it.
I haven't played the video game it was based off. I heard that was better, but then some people say that the movie was just as good as the game.
Meh.

I went to see Mockingjay last friday. It was better than the previous two in my opinion. For one book stretched into two movies it is quite good.

I don't really watch movies. They're too long! Maybe documentaries.

There are also great 90 minute movies. Sometimes even shorter.RedAppleGP wrote:I don't really watch movies. They're too long! Maybe documentaries.

I finished watching predestination today, a movie starring Ethan Hawke that for some reason did not come out in the cinemas. It is quite amazing, it completely messes with your head. It's probably best to go into it with as little information so I won't give away anything here.

I saw Nolan's "Interstellar" and it blew my pants away. Seriously great art if you ask me. Sci-fi done right, with the focus still on the story and characters and not on effects or monsters.
To get some perspective/comparison, here are some of my other favorites: Seven samurai, Blade runner, King Kong (1933), La vita è bella, Rear window (1954), Nolan's Batman trilogy, District 9, Reservoir dogs and Apocalyps now redux to name a few.

I watched Gravity and really liked it. The visual effects were unlike I have seen in any other movie. The music was also great. I also watched Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret, which is a documentary about the environmental damage caused by animal agriculture.
