Are there any good Muslim vs. Christian debates?

Post by Jebus »

All the good debates I have found on Youtube consist of one or two atheists vs. one or more theists. Have you found any good debates where a religious person defends his/her religion against a person of a different faith. I would love to see how Lane Craig's bullshit measure up against that of Reza Aslan. Why do you think there are so few debates of this kind?
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

There are quite a few, but I'm not sure I'd call them good.

I think it's a bit of an issue of mutually assured destruction. Both sides have absurd beliefs, and if they point that out, their own become vulnerable.
Because they have different scripture, they don't really have any other basis to argue with each other without challenging things neither side want challenged.

That said, there are some criticisms where the Muslims are eviscerating the Christians on their beliefs regarding the Trinity, and the whole "god sacrificing himself". Christianity makes a few peculiar and exceptionally far fetched claims (even for a religion) that are low enough hanging fruit that Muslims don't mind attacking them. Going the other direction, Christians mostly don't have anything to attack Islam on without bringing into question their own holy cows (all they can really do is try to criticize Muhammad, or Islamic practices, but they can only do that from a secular perspective which they don't feel comfortable admitting exists).
I think that may be a reason why Islam is gaining converts in the West.
