Eagle Scout Application Help

I have been in the Boy Scouts for many years, long before I truly became a self-proclaimed atheist. I have put in years of work into this, and I want to get my eagle. There's only one problem... I need a reference from a religious official... I have long since abandoned my church... I don't know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you want to get your Eagle?

BSA is a discriminatory organization. I know that might sound like sour grapes, but do you really want recognition from bigots?
Can you join a different organization?

I completely agree. Lol. But I joined long ago, and getting your eagle can get you many things in life. Plus, my mom would actually be proud of me for once. :/

This does not seem easy to reconcile imho. What can you possibly do other than lie and say you're not an atheist.
You need a "religious official". So in other words, a fraud? Should such a position even exist? >_>

Lol, we are such a bad influence. Its like we don't want him to get eagle scout.
Anyway, it might help if it was you knew personally and if that person doesn't see a problem with you being an atheist.

Sounds like you got lucky with a scoutmaster or administrator who was willing to bend the rules. Congrats, I guess.

Well I'm glad you have it sorted out, I am also in Boy Scouts and I ran into the same problem, I tried it submit the form with N/A for that part, but they sent it back and to,d me to get a signature, even though my project had no help from any religious institution. But it is behind me now, anyways congratulations.
