I like Dawkins' books on biology. They were the primary reason for my decision to study biology. But when it comes to philosophy and theology, Dawkins is simple-minded. Hitchens was a great rhetorician but his writings mostly lacked theoretical substance. Harris' books on topics other than religion are pretty good but his books on religion were not good.

I think the best among them is Dan Dennett. His books are truly fascinating. Breaking the Spell -which is a decent book- may be one of his weakest works. I encourage people to especially read his books Darwin's Dangerous Idea, Freedom Evolves and Consciousness Explained.

Since you like Harris on things other than religion, and like Dennett overall; which of them do you think has it right when it comes to free will?
