^I think that "friendship evangelism" can work. Lots of my friends have become or are interested in becomming vegetarians/pescatarians etc.. This person in particular said I opened up her mind to veganism (she apparently didn't really understand it & had a negative perspective of it before) & that she's interested in going vegan.

Maybe it works better for teenagers because IMO they are generally more open to new ideas anyway (because they haven't lived long enough to be set in their ways).

Also, I've learned things from my discussions with her, so I think it's worth it for others reasons as well.

I think "friendly acquaintance evangelism" is effective. The key is that you don't go out of your way, but just get people to see it more positively based on friendly casual social interaction.
When you start helping people move, that's a huge effort input, and you'd be better off spending the sweat handing out leaflets from Mercy For Animals on the street.

It can be valuable in and of itself to make time for discussions with people who have different beliefs to learn about them.
