I enjoyed the mormon tabernacle choir at his inauguration.
However, Trump is a right-wing liberal capitalist imperialist piggy. Just like Hillary. The bourgies are screwing you proles over. Wake up sheeple. Embrace socialism.
Comrade Bernie is your only hope. You must seize the means of production, rise up, and form a new U.S.S.A.

Re: President Trump
I'll just make this prediction:
The rust belt will continue to rust, and very few jobs will be brought back to the US.
I'm basing this on some figures I saw recently, which said that 85% of manufacturing jobs lost over the last few years were down to the rise of the robots. A US worker costs roughly $25-28 an hour to employ, whilst a robot costs about $8.
I'd like to think he'd be impeached at an early stage in his presidency, but then we'd have President Pence.
Aargh!

Yeah, the jobs aren't being "stolen" by China, they're mostly just lost to automation.. Basically all economists think he's an idiot. It's a shame that the useless mainstream media spends all their energy on his lewd comments instead of debunking these things. There seems to be a growing consensus that the best way to counteract the bad effects of globalization and AI is to give citizens a basic salary and free education. Trump's ideas of protectionism seems really stupid, and maybe dangerousTake5 wrote:I'll just make this prediction:

Yep. Why do you think it is that journalists lack this common sense? Even now, when it has become clear that their current tactics of not addressing the substance of his ideas have failed.knot wrote:It's a shame that the useless mainstream media spends all their energy on his lewd comments instead of debunking these things. Re: President Trump
During week one of the apocalypse:
1) Trump authorizes DAPL, apart of a company he has stock in. Because who gives a shit about conflicts of interest? DAPL, by the way, goes through land sacred to Native Americans to produce oil that isn't even mostly consumed in the United States (so it's not exactly about energy independence). Trump declares himself an environmentalist.
2) Trump kills TPP. Wow, this is not something I expected him to do. TPP is a trade agreement that, while having some positive components, loses my support in that it enables multinational corporations to prosecute individual people in international courts for hurting their profits. So, ok, he did something good.
3) The phrase 'alternative facts' is introduced to the political sphere by the Trump team as 1984 skyrockets in popularity.
4) Trump's inauguration, at lower attendance than both of Obama's, was "the biggest ever period" or something.
5) The only reason Trump didn't win the popular vote was apparently due to rampant voter fraud. Lack of any evidence whatsoever is completely irrelevant.
6) Largest protest in American history, the Women's March, takes place to oppose Donald Trump. Republican politician says they should make sandwiches.
7) Betsy Devos, soon to be Secretary of Education, reveals she knows nothing about education. Unsurprising.
8) Trump's executive orders weaken Obamacare as republicans begin to take steps to repeal it. He also takes money away from people to help them pay for housing.
9) Trump tells CIA, "I'm like a smart person".
10) Trump only getting intelligence briefings once per week.

Re: President Trump
Betsy Devos nomination passed Committee 12-11.
I just tried to call John McCain at all of his offices and none of them worked.
I was going to say:

I was going to say:
Hi, I’m _______. I’m calling about the nomination today of Betsy Devos.
I would like to encourage Senator McCain, who is someone I believe is not very partisan - more principled than partisan, like when he made a statement against Trump’s recent Executive Order, to vote against her nomination. I know that Senator McCain has worked hard to get money out of politics, and Betsy Devos is someone in the past who has said she expects to get a “return on investment” from her political donations. Would you like me to read the full quote to you?
“My family is the biggest contributor of soft money to the Republican National Committee,” she wrote in the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call. “I have decided to stop taking offense,” she wrote, “at the suggestion that we are buying influence. Now I simply concede the point. They are right. We do expect something in return. We expect to foster a conservative governing philosophy consisting of limited government and respect for traditional American virtues. We expect a return on our investment.”

Re: President Trump
I just left a voice message for Rand Paul!
Please call if you can. Betsy Devos would be a very bad Secretary of Education.
Update - I just left another for Susan Collins! This is so cool! Also kind of intimidating (holy shit I'm calling Senators?!). But really cool.
