Which electronic company has got it all figured out?

1) we are not talking about a nessecity in this sistuation. if you where to point out particularly bad meat produceing animal rights abusers would it be fair to conclude "witch slughterhouse has it right" and than continue to suport the abusers?

2) as stated by brim, you can buy an outdated, but functional, phone 2nd hand. this gets rid of the argument from inconveniance, stateing that mobile phones are in a sense nessacery considering the amount of social networking contingent on technology. this will also decreas demand for shop based phones untill the rise of acceptable, high quality, companies. this is however open to the argument proposed by yourself (VA) many times, that is the argument from message depicted. althow this is less practible, but still possible, it can aply to home/bissnes computers.

it does seem to be a view more consistant with your own ethical theorys, acording to your videos, to at very least give consideration to the ethicle problem's involveing the misstreatmet of individuals in over seas labour forces, when considering your $$$ vote, in regards to non nessecitys, such as the ones adressed in these comments.

I fully agree with you bobo0100. This is an issue I've been thinking about (like we should as people that care about moral justice) and I have to say that I can't defend buying those products. But I have to admit that I still buy those products for purely selfish reasons. I strongly encourage Apple (and let's not forget all the other companies that also use Foxconn) to get it fixed, but I understand that won't just happen.

It's not Linux, just like Mac OS is also not Linux. This confusion arises because Linux is build upon Unix, and so is Mac OS. Now, iOS is actually not even fully compatible with Unix, making it Unix-like. But just because the OS contains a specific kernel/foundation that's works very well, doesn't make every implementation just awesome. (and don't get me wrong here, I myself don't have much trouble with iOS8)

I think it's a bit of a misconception that sweatshops and/or child labor are why excessive consumerism isn't a good idea. I don't think these things are necessarily problems so much as the lack of resource recycling (particularly the rare minerals, which can be conflict sourced, which is a much bigger issue also involving environmental destruction), and general waste of money that can be better spent elsewhere.

How about this, Kraft Foods the largest food company in the united states now you wouldn't buy their dairy/animal products but thousands of vegans love boca's fake/mock meat which is made by kraft?

I just installed ubuntu 14.04 1 LTS and I love it, plus it is free, you can turn any old computer you have into a wonderful machine now! You should try it all you have to do is burn it to a CD

You're making the same mistake as you did with Linux here. FreeBSD and OpenBSD are BSD distributions. OS X is based on Darwin which contains BSD code. It did derive much code from projects like FreeBSD that were incorporated in NeXTSTEP.

Linux, Unix, OS X, they all stem from open and closed BSD code, BSD birthed the code bottom line.

Why not make it look nice and appealing, people love the apple design but they're paying waaay too much. If everyone knew about Ubuntu's free operating system people could stop spending thousands of dollars on new macs or any computer for that matter & they could do what brim is talking about and recycle an old computer/ phone ! You really aren't paying for the laptop or the phone you are paying for the new operating system.

I don't think they managed to get on the same level of (design) quality as OS X.
Most people I know (but hey, my field is computer science) are fully aware of Ubuntu, but are yet not interested and somehow still use Windows. I understand your feeling that it should be more popular then it currently is, but when I think about my time with it I can also understand why it's not attractive to everyone (command-line is sometimes inevitable).
Yes, Macs are overpriced, but it is just awesome design, durability, reliability, etc. I personally like the software too much to make the switch to Linux; there's lots of quality (and sometimes domain specific) software on the Mac I couldn't live without.

I have been thinking about a not work related computer with Linux though, since I wouldn't necessarily need the software I most of the time use on my Mac. (There is still a place in my heart reserved for Linux)

Basically iOS 8 is just a watered down version of Android. Aside from that I hate the new animations. The animations add a little bit of a lag effect. Siri is another problem, it didn't work on the iPhone 4s and it still doesn't work now, when I used the iPhone 5s for a week I found it a little bit of a struggle to even use Siri or to even get it do to what I want. That brings me to another problem, Apple maps supposedly changed with iOS 7 is still trash, nothing more I can say about that.

Android has had everything Apple is adding now for years, this is not innovation, this is just Apple adding features and putting their logo on it. The only real thing I can give Apple credit for at this point is Customer Support which is, simply put, amazing.

You are right andriod and apple are pretty much the same they're both based from the linux kernel. It's really more of who you trust more, Microsoft or Apple ?
What web browser do you use on your android?
I believe you can now use google maps instead of apple maps or even a third party map if you wanted to.
