I guess I would consider myself an Atheist Jew. Or, do both of my parents have to be Jewish? What's the exact "rule" on the parents? I'm sounding stupid, but does this rule only apply to Jews and Judaism, or does it apply to any other religion?

If only one of your parents is Jewish, you're half Jewish. (common sense ) Jews can make a pretty big deal about this, because they have a long history of only mating with other Jews. This way they created their own gene pool, which they try to keep 100% pure. Youngsters might have trouble with deciding whether to have only intimate relationships with other Jews in this modern progressive world (ask your parent about it, maybe he/she experienced this pressure as well).

This thread is such a fine example of how the conversation can totally abandon the topic brought up by the OP. Anyways, although illegal drugs (and perhaps alcohol, as well) are destructive to the vast majority of users, I do believe that there is a minority of people who have got more positive than negative out of drug use.
