It would be nice however it would seem that the vegan cook would be called upon whenever they needed vegan food, but would cook the normal meat based meals the rest of the time. that's what I got from the conversation anyway.dan1073 wrote:This could be really great for those who want to pursue a culinary career but don't want to cook/clean meat or any animal products for that matter.

vegan: to exclude—as far as is practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for any purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment.

Yeah, you'd have to be in an area with a larger vegan population, or a very large restaurant with a lot of varied customers like a hotel to avoid having to cook the non-vegan food.bobo0100 wrote: It would be nice however it would seem that the vegan cook would be called upon whenever they needed vegan food, but would cook the normal meat based meals the rest of the time. that's what I got from the conversation anyway.
Although they might be willing to make you in charge of some of the side dishes.

another question is how would one go about getting the required degrees to work as a cook? I'm sure the courses would include dealing with meat, and "high risk food" such as fish.

That is awful and this is the only reason I do not prefer to eat at places like this and Boston restaurants are always on my priority list. This man should respect people’s choices.

I think he's changed now based on the link I posted, just for the record.Georg521 wrote:That is awful and this is the only reason I do not prefer to eat at places like this and Boston restaurants are always on my priority list. This man should respect people’s choices.

This is quite interesting post for me. I am also a vegan and a food freak. I love doing parties. I am making plans to take my family to NYC for attending best new year eve party nyc. I’ll buy the tickets in advance.

Hi Caleb, welcome to the forum! If you'd like to participate in discussions then I recommend first creating an introduction post.

Welcome Caleb,
Sure, though it's not mandatory, of course.ArmouredAbolitionist wrote:Hi Caleb, welcome to the forum! If you'd like to participate in discussions then I recommend first creating an introduction post.

I know. I just think that most of us like to see introduction posts, so that we can get to know someone who will contribute to discussions.
