What about vaping or cooking?

I don't understand what you're asking.

Well your problem seemed to do with the act of smoking itself not cannabis in particular. Vaping is vapourising, ie not smoke but water vapour so no combustion & cooking again has no combustion so would you have a problem with those because I honestly agree with you that smoking anything is not good & Vaping should be an easier & more freely available option.

Well, he went on to say:
Vaping, however, may be, and certainly pills, possibly oil extracts, etc. There are numerous safer ways to effectively deliver THC and other components which are beneficial without the dangerous effects of the products of partial combustion in smoke.
I'm 100% against smoking. Magic brownies, though? Eh, maybe it wouldn't hurt to legalize those.
So there ya have it.
UPDATE-
Perhaps I shouldn't be responding for other people. Hm.
I should have thought this through more, maybe.

That's why I didn't understand the question. I thought I had already answered it.

All drugs should be legal because technically they are already just synthetic chemical versions owned by the drug companies. If all drugs were legal or at least non criminal then people could get help for addiction instead of being fined and put in jail. The only reason drugs are illegal is so the drug companies and the judicial system can make a profit and exist ...

Don't worry about it!

What?
ravencassidy wrote:If all drugs were legal or at least non criminal then people could get help for addiction instead of being fined and put in jail.
People can get help for addiction. They just can't avoid jail time if they claim they want help AFTER they get arrested. Nobody who walks into a rehab clinic gets fined or arrested for having been addicted to drugs.
ravencassidy wrote:The only reason drugs are illegal is so the drug companies and the judicial system can make a profit and exist ...
This is not the reason certain classes of drugs are illegal.
The reason is a mix of politics, social conservatism, and in the case of certain drugs, and little science of substance abuse to back it up. Unfortunately, politics doesn't always follow the science.
The judicial system is going bankrupt (and becoming impossibly backed up due to lack of resources), as are states due to the cost of imprisoning so many people for drug offenses. The suggestion that it is for profit is absurd.
Never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence.

Do you realize that most prisons are privately owned and get a government grant/payment for each prisoner they keep? THIS IS FACT ..... they are paid with our taxes so YES it is a money making scam.. about 80% of people in jails and prisons are in there for minor and un violent crimes. And as far as I am concerned the rapist, murderers and pedophiles should be humanely killed by injecting them with a needle full of air or give them a shot of drugs to kill them, then we wouldn't have to pay for their existence and they do not have the chance to get out and hurt more people.

Yes, it's terrible.
ravencassidy wrote:they are paid with our taxes so YES it is a money making scam..
It's not the government making the money, it's the prisons making the money.
You accused the wrong parties.
Now politicians being bribed with campaign funds by the prisons to keep these things legal? Maybe.
This stuff is part of public record. One would just have to follow the money to find out if that were the case.
The courts have nothing to do with it, and the governments are losing money on the arrangement.
ravencassidy wrote:about 80% of people in jails and prisons are in there for minor and un violent crimes.
Yes, it's insane. I agree that only violent offenders should be locked up like that.

Well, that's going a bit far, but I understand where you're coming from.

While I do agree with you, I do for different reasons. For, as a civil libertarian, I believe the individual should always have the option to do something & exercise freedom, so long as it does not limit or negatively impact upon another individual's freedom.
