I don't recall what it was, but there was a forum post I couldn't access today. Is there a reason for this?

Yep. It was most definitely a spam post.

Anyone else watching the presidential debate tonight? I wouldn't, but my father is making me once again. If you are watching, what are your thoughts on it before and after you've watched it.

I am. :D

Why don't you want to watch it? The last one was more entertaining than Bill Maher's stand-up.

My thoughts... I'm wondering if they're going to talk about things that actually matter, or focus largely on abortion and how they hate Planned Parenthood because of Planned Parenthood's pro-choice positions (or, as the republicans call it, 'fetal body organ selling').

Have you heard about this scandal? An organization called the Center for Medical Progress, that lied to the IRS and to people when getting donations about who they are, and is really a front group for Live Action (anti-choice group) has been releasing these obviously edited propaganda videos that try to make it seem like Planned Parenthood sells fetal body organs, and changes abortion procedures without the consent of the patients to get the organs intact. Even in the videos, nobody from Planned Parenthood said anything that would indicate this, and in the unedited version of the first, the person makes it clear that they don't. It's even pretty obvious in the edited ones.

And now these republicans in Congress are trying to shut down the government to defund Planned Parenthood. O_O

There's now a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee on this issue. Guess what it's called:
'Examining the Horrific Abortion Practices at the Nation's Largest Abortion Provider'.

And guess what organization isn't able to testify:
Planned Parenthood.

But no, it's all about the videos that totally demonstrate that there is real reason to believe Planned Parenthood is doing these things. That's not a front for our anti-choice stance at all. We only titled the hearing, 'Examining the Horrific Abortion Practices at the Nation's Largest Abortion Provider', and aren't letting Planned Parenthood testify to defend itself. What's with the concern?

I've heard of the scandal, but I didnt think that planned parenthood would sell fetus organs, I thought that it would be more like donating stem cells for research. I'll have to look into it more. I don't want to watch the debate because I would rather do something productive, and as entertaining as it may be, I had to keep a straight face during the last one, because my family agrees with everything that they said. Can't exactly burst out in laughter when your family supports them.

A new forum layout!

Hm, interesting... :D

Why do some of the topics have icons that move, but others don't?

Is there a way to change the organization of the members by amount of posts, as opposed to by sign-up date?
