Based on that clip alone :P
I'd like him to explain why diversity is good, assuming he's talking about multiculturalism. I'd not expect him to give a rational explanation, as the multicultural ideology is inherently irrational since its assumptions rely on moral relativism. I think that clip is very symptomatic of why many people hate the EU, as it perfectly displays the arrogant mindset of the political elite. We're dealing with people who live their lives isolated from reality in their ivory towers. People who most likely never had a *real* job, but instead spent most of their youth furiously masturbating to the works of Michel Foucault, and now want to impose their postmodern delusions on the lowly dregs of society.
'Cultural marxist'? What does this mean?
Just someone who places little or no importance on culture, but instead tends to view things in terms of economics, race, gender, etc.
What makes you think political power in the EU is concentrated on just a few individuals? The European Commission has 28 members and is just the executive power, the European parliament has 751 members and is democratically elected just like any other parliament.
Yes, but as I understand it, only the 28 members can propose legislation, and they will just continue putting things up for vote until they get the result they want

Why should we value culture?

What does someone who views things in terms of economics look like? I don't know what that's supposed to imply. Are economists cultural Marxists?

We should only care about cultures that lead to good outcomes. Western culture I'd argue has proven itself to be objectively superior since it generates the most prosperity and happiness for everyone. On the other hand, it seems that countries dominated by Islam consistently produce unhappy individuals, but naturally that doesn't stop them from attempting to force their miserable culture on the rest of us. It's easy to take the values of Western secular humanism and liberalism for granted, but if we don't stick up for them, there's no guarantee they will exist in the future.

An example: A lot of people still maintain that terrorism is caused by poverty and lack of education, but in reality terrorism is actually negatively correlated with these two factors. This likely indicates that terrorism is a deeper cultural problem (with no easy solution).

Another textbook example of a cultural Marxist would be PZ Myers. He wrote some blog post (that I can't find right now) about how great it is that 'white' people are in decline, and that 'brown' people will soon dominate the Earth, and anyone who is concerned with this demographic change is just a racist... but his insane analysis completely ignores the role of culture. The problem is that the countries that have had the most explosive population growths (upwards of 500% the last 50 years) are primarily majority Muslim countries where the average IQ is < 80. Personally, I find this combination of globally declining IQ combined with the expansion of Islam to be very concerning.
