Some guy in an online multiplayer game tried to lower my IQ with this:
''You think Evolution is true? Lol? If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? I read the Bible. I am smarter than you!''
A Muslim Youtuber pulled this out of his ass:
''Science is the dumbest Religion!''
It sucks to be labelled as a 'cow' and an 'immoral bastard' just for being a vegetarian and an atheist, respectively, but I find it liberating to know that my lifestyle is based upon compassion and science! Not some total BS.
I once read a YT comment saying something like homoshmexuallity was not a mental illness, and actually a possession by DAH DEVIL. At least he got the "Its not a mental illness" right...
Some of the most stupid things that I have hear theists say range from the God of the gaps argument, to a completely closed mind. I remember having a discussion during lunch at my high school about my atheism with a friend an an aquantance. My friend uses God to have a sense of spirituality and to explain everything that science cannot. The other person however maintains a position of belief because he thought that he had seen Angels n his childhood. This would be surprising, but when he heard that someone asked me which field of physics I am going into( I plan on being a physicist.) he said "He is going to use science to disprove God." Which is not at all what I had in mind for a career. While it is true that some parts of physics may challenge the notions of a deity ( The various theories on the origin and functionality of the universe.) it in no way actively tries to disprove God.
Some Christian told me that God "poofed" everything into existence with the Bang Bang when he said "let there be light".
Funny... 'cuz the God of the Bible apparently created the heavens and the Earth BEFORE the Big Bang. So he is meaning to tell me, that the Earth is older than the Universe itself?
Anyway, light did NOT immediately appear after the Big Bang... it took a relatively long period (I think, 300,000 to 400,000 years?).
