I still believe that, as a civilized society setting an example for the rest of the world, that we should abolish the death penalty.

The guillotine definitely has that horrifying psychological aspect to it. It reminds me of ISIS chopping peoples' heads off. But really, the guillotine is just as evil as killing people out of vengeance through the lethal injection.

Question: If the death penalty is really supposed to be about what's right, why don't we use the guillotine so everyone sees what we're doing? Why do we kill people behind closed doors?
And why do we have this policy of 'an eye for an eye' when it comes to murder? Why do we murder murderers? How is that ok? It's completely barbaric. We don't assault people who commit assault. We don't rape rapists.

They don't get to be killed in a nuclear explosion, or be eaten by a white tiger.
