I was actually going to post a link to Camerons video why feminism and anarchism work well together... so I think you can take that as a yes.

Well, as far as I know, the definition of feminism is still one who believes that women should have the same rights as men. All the feminists I know believe this, and are not just interested in women's rights, but men's rights, as well.
So, I also refer to myself as a feminist.

Unfortunately the feminists that are depicted as misandrists that want special privileges are the ones that get the most attention. The kind of feminism that exists today is really more of a movement that want a removal of expectations for women. There will always be expectations of people, we all have expectations. Society expects you to vote leaders into office for what you think will be the best for the country. But with social expectations like what you ahold do for a living/ how to conduct yourself is entirely up to an individual, you do not have to listen. But I personally do not like the term feminist, just like I do not like any political label, mainly because if you have a political label all of the negative conceptions about that label are applied to you. But that's just my take on it, let me know if I'm wrong.

Egalitarianism is perhaps a better term than "Equalism".

What is Feminism?

According to Wikipedia:

"Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve equal political, economic, cultural, personal, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women."

We need to distinguish Feminism from Feminists, generalization is wrong and is sensitive here. The media often introduces the sort of "mad" feminists who are rather misandrists. Misandrism is wrong.

It is often thought that the definition of feminism does not exclude misandrism, and so it is wrong, and another term is preferred, like "egalitarianism". However, that is akin to saying that atheism does not exclude unicornism, and so it is wrong.

Westerner feminists has been indulging into relatively unimportant matters, and that is what's deviating your attention. However, in a country like mine (Egypt), feminism is very important at the moment.

As a utilitarian, I would have a few issues with egalitarianism, but I don't think it is suitable to address now.

Classical utilitarians has been quite endorsing to feminism, names like J. S. Mill and Henry Sidgwick are on top of my head.

Simone DeBeauvoir is perhaps the most important icon of feministic literature (French existentialist second wave feminist). Judith Butler is the most important feminist philosopher today.

I am sorry mate, but the Atheist movement is not a cult. There is no recruitment drive here. Anyone is free to join.

This articles has many strawmen here. If you want to go into it and the mods do not have any objection, as it is only tangential to thread, (as the article just represents strawmen erected by self-professed feminists, and not feminists in general), I'd be happy to do so.

You might want to start a thread on it.

Me?

It takes some time to explain. My first couple posts on the first page sum it up pretty well:
https://theveganatheist.com/forum/viewt ... f=17&t=151

To me, that's like asking "when you're on a jury, are you for the prosecution or the defense?"
If I've decided ahead of time, I'm not doing my job as a juror, or engaging in free thought. I need to hear the arguments from both sides.
