Hello, users of The Vegan Atheist Forums! I'm a vegan atheist. I have been an agnostic atheist for about two years and I've been a vegan for less than a week. I enjoy STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) topics, religion, and I love debating. I had run into this website while watching Stupid Agnostic Comments #1.

I can't wait to meet you all and have educational discussions! :D

Hello DiscreteElite, welcome to the forum. Pleased to hear that you enjoy STEM topics. I do as well. I'm a recent graduate of UCSC (Earth Sciences B.S.) and I love talking about science; especially geology, physics, and astronomy. What caused you to become an atheist and a vegan? Many of us would no doubt love to hear your atheist-story and/or vegan-story.

The website that got the ball rolling was http://godisimaginary.com/index.htm. Then, I watched some of The Amazing Atheist. His old videos were comical rather than logical, but that's when I became atheist. I recently found The Vegan Atheist, which I found to be better since he doesn't use ad hominem attacks like other YouTubers (such as Amazing Atheist, MrRepzion, and CultofDusty).

TheVeganAtheist convinced me to go vegan. His videos were well-made and he links to great sources. As a kid when you find out that the meat you're eating was an animal, of course you have an emotional response. However, I was given comfort at the time because my parents said that God created animals for humans to eat (which I disregard now). That gave me comfort. However, as a more logical thinker TheVeganAtheist had convinced me that eating meat for its taste is inappropriate.

Hi DiscreteElite_, welcome to the forum! Happy to hear that my videos were helpful to you. How have family and friends responded to your atheism and veganism?

My parents couldn't care less about my veganism but my dad was disapproving of my atheism but he didn't disown me. I only told him about my atheism.
