My name is Cloe Jarozenski. I became a vegan soon after I let go of my Christian faith, and decided to live my life based on secular humanist values. I stopped eating meat when I was fourteen, and wanted to break away from my long family history of heart disease. Aside from the numerous health benefits, I have always been disgusted by the treatment of animals living inside of factory farms. It breaks my heart to know that such beautiful, sentient beings have to live such horrible lives, just for the sake of our convenience. I never understood how someone could have so much love for their dog or cat, but think nothing of slaughtered pig that they ate for lunch.
Veganism is very important to me, and it is something I'm passionate about. Being a junior in college, I am a well-known person within the campus community, and I help organize vegan events at my college for people to meet others who are like-minded, and to teach non-vegans about the vegan lifestyle. Building communities with people is the most effective way to "convert" meat-eaters, and to embrace a healthier and longer life! That is why I am so happy I discovered The Vegan Atheist. His videos are fun, educational, and honest. We need honesty more than ever!

Welcome Cloe!
I'd be very much interested to hear what methods you use to advocate for veganism and How effective you would consider them.

Re: Greetings, My Fellow Vegan Atheists!
My college has a vegan club, and we borrow a lot of our methods from the church. Haha!
We make pamphlets and pass them around, we engage people in conversation, we have meetings, and we have use social media. Our methods are really more effective than I would have thought. We gain more members every semester!
By the way, I am new to this site. I have attempted to upload my picture as my avatar, but the site will not allow me. Could you please help me?

Welcome Cloe, I'm very glad you joined. Great personal stories, thanks for sharing.
I hope you'll like it here, and decide it's a good place to invite your club members to; we're always glad to welcome new members.
It's possible it's too large. Do you know how to resize it?
I would try that first.
If not, then just upload it to another place (image hosting site), and then you can link to it as an off site avatar.
