Hello vegans, and atheists, my name is Gabi Tomas, I am 34, and I am a pure vegan since about 3 years now, before that I was a vegetarian. Religiously speaking I have been an atheist since 17-19 y.o., when I started to become deeply revolted with the superficiality and hypocrisy of the Christian church, even with my back then so young logic, I could notice it.
I became attracted with Buddhism about 6 years ago. And now I believe in the power of the mind as the ultimate force in the universe, in terms of intelligence. If any superior to us beings in this universe exist, such as what we may call 'gods', they must be superior in intelligence, which probably gave them the powers, and with them the possibilities that we think they have, making them all-mighty. It they exist, of course. If not, we will soon become that force. It will take stages, and long centuries, but as Michio Kaku uses to say, "we are on our course to harness, once day [completely] our planet, then our Sun, then hopefully our galaxy. Is a matter of intelligence development, which it means is a matter of time."
Cheers to you all, I hope we'll have some nice thoughts to share in here. :geek:

Hello, and welcome to the forum. What initially attracted you to Buddism? Why did you decide to go vegan?

Welcome Gabi,

It's great you've gone vegan. Did Buddhism inspire you?

What kinds of powers do you see the mind creating? Or do you mean through the ability to create and harness technology?
