Hiya

Post by General Knowledge »

Hi there
I am an Australian Athiest, a historian and a youtuber. I do eat meat but believe it or not I love animals.
I have been an Atheist since I was 13, so 6 years now.

Welcome General Knowledge!

By animals do you mean pets? Otherwise, I wouldn't doubt that you love animals. You probably are just experiencing cognitive dissonance of some sort.

How did you realize there was no god(s)? How did others respond?

I feel welcome

I love all animals both wild and domesticated I see no difference, apart from Spiders which I don't like at all.
I was raised Roman Catholic did the whole thing but when I started to look at the world from 12 years old I just failed to see any real evidence and If there was a god or gods then they were pricks who I had no time for.

I can understand the situation; many people's parents force them into things they don't agree with.

Do you hope to go vegan when you move out of your parents' home?
If you care about animals, but aren't allowed to eat vegan, I'd say you're vegan at heart. :)

Then they don't make you do it, you just want animals to suffer and die, and to damage the environment, for your own pleasure?

What you are describing is not love, it's selfish indifference.

There are other things that taste good that do not cause so much harm to others.

Tell me how is it harming the environment and if a city as small as camberra went total vegan what would that mean for hundreds of thousands of people whose lives depends on that trade and how does that mean I don't love animals?
