Hi there, meat eater here. I'm trying to go vegan, being a vegetarian isn't so hard, when you've got the money. Found the youtube channel to this site by accident and figured I'd look around.

Welcome World Away! That's great that you're working on going vegan -- that's the most important thing. None of us are successful 100% of the time (we all make mistakes), but it's all about trying our best and succeeding most of the time.

You'll need to buy a B-12 supplement, and take it once a week. That's the only vitamin (aside from D which can come from sunlight most places) that plants don't have.

Take 1,000 mcg twice a week. Once a week is probably fine for most people too.

That is about $6 and should last almost half a year if you take it twice a weeek. :)

Aside from that, try to base your diet on whole foods, particularly beans and vegetables. Choose dark green veggies when you can.
Don't eat too much oil, too many sweet fruits, or too many grains (avoid things like rice, and only have them occasionally).

Let us know what you eat, or what you like, and we can help you make a meal plan.

You can eat vegan pretty easily on $3 - $4 a day.
