I am discussing Noah's Ark with someone i know. I put it simple. That there was no way that a boat of that size could fit/support all the thousands of animals needed and the food to feed them. Neither could a boat be build big enough out of wood without cracking apart. As some very talented shipbuilders lost their life's testing.

Now the person has responded that their belief says that only about 160 animal species were needed to get all the animals we have today. I have no idea where this information came from (most likely fake or ignorant study). From what i could find the amount of animals needed was closer the hundreds of thousands than hundreds.

Could you help me out. Supply me with some information on the topic. When i looked up the question on google all the articles were from factless and highly favored articles on sites like "creation.com". All i have to go with on the ark is the info in the top that i put together from various debates of figures that are trustworthy.

But God made all the animals travel to the Ark and he warned Noah of the impending doom. Why wouldn't God be able to help them make a big and strong enough boat? Don't you know God can do anything?

If on the other hand, you are trying to argue that it was not possible for humans at that time to build such a boat, than you also need to explain a bunch of other amazing claims relating to the same story, such as why it wouldn't be possible for all those animals to travel to the launching site. Also, I always wondered what happened to them kangaroos.

I can't figure out how many species of land animal there currently is. I keep finding 6.5 million total, but I am not sure if that is current or through all of history. So I can't help you with the 160...

Yea Cirion. Bill Nye was were i came to the conclusion that the ark could not have endured at such a size.

As Jebus pointed out, the trouble with debunking these stories is the Christian will ultimately pull a deus ex anus to explain any practical problem away as a miracle.
It's an ever moving goal post. You have to hit the theism at the heart, and debunk the supernatural being at the center of it -- their god -- then the rest is superfluous.

Yep. As i said. "Then the person said but we do not believe in evolution. god probably just changed some into the other species later." And i was like. He did what? Why would god make someone save a few animals kill the rest and then evovle the few back into the entire millions of species. Kinda defeats the purpose.


On another not if the water was to expand as much as the uninformed christians would have us believe. All the marine animals would have died out.
