Feminism
So I was asked to make a thread and here it is ^^.
I hate feminists. I can't say it any better. They are stupid, ignorant girls who have a god complex and try to destroy and cause prblems everywhere!
WAIT! Before you rant about me read this:
There is a difference between Equivalists (as i like to call them) and Feminists!
Latter adress the rights of females only! Many of them even try to reduce the rights of men! The word feminism is very accurate.
What do you think it advocates for? Human rights or feminin rights?
I do live in a culture, where men and women are completly equal! Women are only paid a little less because of capitalism (9months pregnancy, ill more often whatsoever look at some studies regarding that topic!) and probably a few jackasses who hate women (yes they do exist!)
And i think in the U.S. it should be the same. At least largely. I love the youtuber karen straughan!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp8tToFv-bA
watch this video! she really is brilliant and this is only one video!
Males are always the ones who have to sacrifice etc. she really brings feminism down from a logical point of view! and even better: shes female! because if males advocate these issues they are beeing sexist or anti women!
Don't get me wrong i am 100% for equality (even though as long as there is capitalism it will never work because some humans are worth more than others!).
But as i said feminism is pretty much the opposit of that! They want to get more rights while retaining their rights like "men have to die first" or whatever!
I know i know what comes next is just a bunch of retards but still THIS is essentially what feminism means (femin dominates masculin):
there are astonishingly many women out there who don't breastfeed their boys to get the girls stronger or want all males to get circumcised because they are pigs when looking at a womens breast while forgetting that THEY put on a t-shirt with a neckline to the bellybutton! its an instinct! we cant help it!
so this is just a short review of my point of view about feminism and I hope to get a nice conversation flowing!

Re: Feminism
I agree with you.
Feminism is only needed if the rights of females is less then that of males.
I understand that there were feminists in the 1950's and i agree with them.
Feminists today don't have a foot to stand on.

Re: Feminism
im all for equal human rights, and I think feminism has taken some bad turns and makes it an angry, male hating, male distrusting group. At its core I agree with equal rights for women.. and men..

Re: Feminism
Equalist is a great term.
One interesting way to help equalize salary: Give men paternity leave. If they both take off, you don't worry much more about women getting pregnant. The economics tend to work themselves out a little better after that. It's something Google does which is pretty cool, and a lot of big companies are starting to get on board with it.

I agree. People such as Rebecca Watson, Anita Sarkeesian and Suey Park are a disgrace to the world, in my opinion. Fortunately Thunderfoot is doing a great job at debunking modern feminists.
For evil to prevail, good people must stand aside and do nothing.

Re: Feminism
I agree that it's equal rights one should care about. But that's what feminism was originally about, right? So I kind of wonder whether the criticism about feminism makes generalizations or not. The critic about angry shouting women that want even more rights than men is absolutely justified, but aren't there also feminists that are just for equality (but maybe not in the spotlight because the rights are already established).
I think people are wrong by trying to get more women into technical jobs and other typical men jobs. Of course women should be able to practice those jobs if they want to, but they should accept that a women's brain (and body) is different from men and their interests are generally different. So promoting women into technical jobs feels kind of weird. But it's also sad that women need to defend themselves and aren't always comfortable when making the choice.

Afraid I'm gonna have to ask for some actual evidence here. Can you accurately quote any actual feminist who actually says or does the things you claim "feminists" do?Viktorius_the_Third wrote:Latter adress the rights of females only! Many of them even try to reduce the rights of men!
I think you are attacking a straw woman.

For the most part legal equality is established in every way it can clearly be done.Volenta wrote:I agree that it's equal rights one should care about. The critic about angry shouting women that want even more rights than men is absolutely justified, but aren't there also feminists that are just for equality (but maybe not in the spotlight because the rights are already established).
But there are biological asymmetries which make it impossible to establish something everybody can agree on as equal for the more subtle elements.
Particularly, pregnancy. But also things like physical upper-body strength.
The woman has the right to choose to get an abortion or not, but the father has no say in it?
This seems unfair from the man's position, particularly when it's half of his genetic information, and he is legally liable for child support.
There is no law to resolve this to the satisfaction of both parties. Give one more rights, and you take away rights from the other. This creates a political situation that is inherently adversarial and divisive.
So, things are not absolutely equal. And they can't be, because for most people equality (on the fine points) is a matter of opinion, and there's almost no way that everybody will agree.
Each person, from his or her own perspective, will see the injustices they face (men see the injustices they struggle with, and women the injustices they struggle with). Both sides have the right end of the stick, and both sides are holding the shit end of the stick, in different ways.
It is due to this matter of perspective, with no neutral party in sight, that the battle will likely rage on. And maybe that's OK, and even important.
We still need feminists, even the angry ones, and we need men's rights activists, even the misogynistic ones, and as a society we need them to fight- just as the prosecution and defense in a legal trial, or republicans and democrats in our two party system, fight- and also we need them to compromise, and come up with solutions together that neither really likes. The adversarial nature of the system is the only thing that's most likely to help us settle into something stable and more or less equitable for the most people.
We need both sides to fight the good fight, and as cheerleaders, we just need to hope it works itself out and comes out better for everybody in the long run.

Re: Feminism
Feminist as far as I'm concerned are just a bunch of women that live in a "reality" where pornography is evil, and Rosy the riveter is god. When are we going to see another Carrie Nation?
She's beautiful...

Re: Feminism
If the good feminists want to differentiate themselves from the bad, they should stop using a female-specific name for their movement.
