Hello,
I live in Quebec city, Canada. I recently took the decision to make the transition from a meat-eating diet to a nothing that make sense but close to veganism diet. I came here mostly for ressources on how to make the transition properly.
On the personnal level, i am a student in archeaology, atheist for as long as i remember, that's pretty much all there is to know.
Hi, turning into a sort-of vegan

Welcome gab, that's great!
The key to a healthy vegan diet is inclusion of beans/legumes for healthy plant protein, high in lysine, eating green leafy veggies, and avoiding too many empty calories (not too much fruit/rice/etc.).
Have you seen TVA's video to Sam Harris (and other new vegans)?

Hey! Yay another Canadian! It's great that you are going for a vegan like lifestyle! when I first turned vegetarian, it just happened overnight, but for a lot of people it's better to have a slow transition by first cutting out red meat, then white meat, then fish. Best of luck to you!

Well, the vegetarian part is way easier than i tought it would be. The only things i have yet to do are the most difficult: giving up cheese and taking the habit of making sure things are vegan.bearbear287 wrote:Hey! Yay another Canadian! When I was a vegetarian cheese was a big part of my diet, and I didn't want to let go of it, but after all I knew about how milk was made, and knowing all of the bad things of cheese, I had to eliminate it. I used fake cheese products for a while, until I eased out of it, now I try to eat as close to nature as possible, and rarely eat fake cheese, but it's nice as a treat. Once you have gotten used to not eating cheese, you will not miss it anymore. Best of luck to you.
