For comedy, I highly recommend Chuck and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Community is also quite fun.

Have you seen Modern Family, and Arrested Development?

Are you open to animation?

I've seen Modern Family, didn't quite like it. Arrested development sounds good though.
Do you mean animation as in The Simpsons, Rick and Morty and American Dad or animation as in anime?

The only live action show I watch is Curb Your Enthusiasm. That's HBO, so if you can afford it..

The original Joe Schmo show is still the funniest tv ever created and the final episode reveal is probably the greatest tv ever made. I also recommend "My big, fat, obnoxious boss", a reality parody of "The Apprentice".
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Doctor Who is really great. It's about this 'person' who goes by the title 'The Doctor', traveling throughout time and space in a spaceship called the TARDIS (sometimes with companions), and gets into adventures. There are usually funny parts, but it's not really a comedy show.

Comedy... 'Real Time With Bill Maher'? But that's a (funny) political talk show, so it's probably not what you had in mind.

I watch 'The Big Bang Theory' sometimes, and that's an actual comedy show. Have you tried that?

My parents always get a laugh out of that show, but I hardly ever smile when I watch it..
