Great article, thanks for sharing!
I've been saying that for a while. What kind of example of morality does Dawkins set for atheists and other secular people when he criticizes the immorality of traditional dogmatic theistic religion, but eats meat even though he recognizes it as morally wrong?

How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Merged threads (hope that's OK, unless these discussions would be very different).

This is on similar lines, an earlier article by the vegan strategist (Tobias Leenaeet) which had got me thinking about veganism. http://veganstrategist.org/2014/02/09/on-meat-eating-and-rationality-richard-dawkins-and-sam-harris/

It's about time! Have either of these gentlemen finally gone vegan?

Harris is working on it. He has gone vegetarian, which is probably a good improvement at least (he suggested that he hasn't increased dairy consumption).ArmouredAbolitionist wrote:It's about time! Have either of these gentlemen finally gone vegan?

I have been thinking about this for a long time. I have lost a great deal of respect for these people for just this reason. Anyone who claims to be rational, or moral seem like frauds when it comes to animal rights. At least it's a reminder that no one in positions of authority is superior in any way.

Good article indeed. It's great to see veganism becoming more and more mainstream. A big site like Salon publishing an article like this might do some good.
Oh great. Do you have a source?brimstoneSalad wrote:He has gone vegetarian, which is probably a good improvement at least (he suggested that he hasn't increased dairy consumption).
