I find the concept of finding ways to feed armies really interesting.
Ive been watching MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) unpacking videos (ex: https://youtu.be/I6R7ZsMchqE ) and one of my favorite podcasts recently discussed the topic (http://99percentinvisible.org/episode/war-and-pizza/ its a really great listen).
There are vegetarian MRE but from what I've seen, not any vegan MRE's.
Now fruits and vegetables are pretty perishable, and there are ways of preserving them but can be hard to be implemented into food. And lord knows you cant live on PB&J sandwiches (as hard as i may try)
If you had to make a vegan MRE that was portable, easily made, and somewhat tasty, what would it include? What would the government have to think about when making these? Are there any setbacks compared to a non-vegan MRE?
This is mostly opinion based, as im sure the government would have enough data and nutritionist to make a great vegan MRE!

Re: VEGAN ARMY
Mostly tempeh (for protein), collards (for more vitamins and minerals), and a high-fat nut-based sauce for calories. Probably some kind of green curry.
Dry whole wheat crackers or flat bread would be provided separately from the sealed wet package, since they are less perishable, as a carb source.
