Hello fellow rational and compassionate persons!

Post by Sapphire Lightning »

Hello! Just a small introduction here.

I am and have always been an atheist. I simply see no compelling evidence to support claims of a diety.

I have been vegan for 4 years now.

I live in a small island village off the coast of Maine, within walking distance of a national park.

Anyways, I am horrible at introductions... So if you want to know anything about me, feel free to ask.

Hi and welcome!

Why/how did you go vegan?

What are your passions?

Welcome!

How do people on your island treat your veganism and atheism?
Its a nice feeling when people can agree on something. Don't you agree?

During my transition (M2F) I developed a heightened sense of empathy, largely due to how poorly myself and other transfolk were being treated. So as my transition progressed I eventually had to stop lying to myself that it was "ok" to eat and enslave animals. I went vegetarian, then a few months after my operation, I went vegan.

My Passions? Computer programming, hiking, cooking. I also want to get in to hang gliding and/or sky diving, as I am deadly afraid of heights and want to challenge that fear.

The island I live on is very liberal, for the most part, so being vegan or atheist isn't an uncommon thing. I know plenty of atheists, and run in to fellow vegans every few months just in the check out line at the grocery store. There used to be an all vegan restaurant in this village, but the family had a child and closed down. I have to drive an hour to get to the next nearest all-vegan eatery. Oh well.

:D I must say I'm mostly into the parodies. https://www.google.com/search?q=rainbow ... 2&ie=UTF-8. Neat little series great for a few laughs!

Thank you!

One question, how do I add a signature? Or do I need to meet some minimum number of posts first?
