What do you all think of Bill Gates' project of donating chickens to poor countries around the world. Ethics aside, is this really an efficient food source? Are there any environmental considerations?

I'd say no. Since production of 1 egg uses 53 gallons of water and to compare; a pound of lettuce takes 30 gallons of water. Even if they only use them for meat it will still consume a lot of valuable resources that is harder for them to acquire.

(The heart healthy vegan eggs also talk a bit about it.)
