I'm just very curious if I'm the only one who has had some awkward things happen in church. Any church is fine, whatever you remember.

I can always remember that when people laid their hands on you to pray that it was very uncomfortable. For one thing, they are hot and sweaty, another then seem to like putting their weight on your, so it can make your skin prickle with uneasiness. This has happened to me more then once, and afterward I'm about the puke from fear and dread. I never liked churches like that, thinking it's okay to touch another to 'pray' for them. Some people just don't like to be touched.

Re: Awkward Church Stories
When I was an alter server and the priest touched my cheek.
And then when I stopped alter serving because I became an atheist, my friend told me the priest missed me and was wondering why I hadn't been at church...

Re: Awkward Church Stories
The first and only time I went to church was when my mom was getting baptized. The priest was talking about how his son would come into his study crying and then the priest would put his son's head on his lap. Now it doesn't sound too weird but, the way he worded it made it sound really creepy. Also, the tone of his voice sounded pleasured. Didn't help that I and my brother joked about it.
Its a nice feeling when people can agree on something. Don't you agree?

Re: Awkward Church Stories
I got baptized accidentally when I was about 7. I wasn't really paying attention, and the preacher (who happened to by my uncle) asked something about if anyone asked God for forgiveness. I raised my hand, next thing I knew I had to put on some weird robes, get in front of the whole church and get dunked in a specialized baptismal pool. I didn't understand what the hell happened for years, but it was the last time I ever raised my hand in church.
