What are your opinions about what this guy says?

Would that opinion change had the same words been spoken by a white guy?

I've seen a few of his videos, and I generally like him because he seems to speak from genuine concern for his community.

If a white person were to say the same things, it would seem like they are just being critical, since white persons cannot really understand what it means to be a black person.

In a perfect world where logic and reason were sacrosanct, it shouldn't matter if Tommy said it or (thinks of whitest person possible) Betty White said it. As long as it were accurate and true, it should be taken into consideration in a reasonable debate.

BUT... there are several factors to consider when discussing racial tensions in America.

It is difficult for non-racists whites to discuss certain issues, since the most racists whites use similar arguments as attacks, instead of treating it as an issue that is a problem that may stem from systemic issues.
