The New Zealand Prime Minister is going to be the Labour candidate Jacinda Ardern. The NZ Labour Party places itself as centre-left, but has been placed on the right by the Political Compass. Nevertheless, it will be a big improvement over the NZ National Party.

The Labour Party will form a coalition with New Zealand First, the centrist nationalist party, and with confidence and supply from the Green Party, the left environmentalist party.

What are your thoughts on this?

I'm not sure.. I certainly wasn't a fan of any of the candidates personally; she is kind of the best of a bad situation?

Except now she's made it one of her missions to attempt to open up Pike River which to me seems like pouring salt into the wounds.

The families have already suffered enough, and she's putting a lot at stake for it as well as getting their hopes up once again. I worry that it will result in nothing but loss all round.
